Cody William Smith | codyslr on Tumblr (USA) - A Moment’s Reflection
A Moment’s Reflection is Los Angeles based photographer Cody William Smith’s ongoing study of specular, or mirror-like, reflections. His intention is to draw new connections between familiar forms by introducing specular reflections to environments where none would typically exist. The mirrors serve as a focal point within a given scene and also function as a window to provide an entirely unique perspective on the same location. You can find more on Instagram, Flickr or on Tumblr. Some of his works are available as prints here.

Carl Melegari, Eligio/Adalberto (2013)
“Melegari’s work is very arresting. His paintings arguably focus just as much on the medium of paint, and how it reacts with the surface, as they do on the subject of the painting. Through the veils of layers, achieved by continuously accumulating and scraping back the paint, a figure emerges as if to suggest how the sitter itself has become enveloped and partly obscured by the energy of the paint. It is an intoxicating technique that gives great intensity to his subject.” - Tail of Wood
